Writing for the Web

Master the principles of web copywriting — clear, concise, and reader-friendly.

How People Read Online

Eye-tracking research shows that online readers rarely read every word. Instead, they scan pages in an F-shaped pattern — reading the first line fully, then scanning down the left side for headings and bold text. Writing that fails to accommodate scanning behavior loses readers within seconds.

Short Paragraphs for Readability

Long unbroken paragraphs feel heavy and intimidating on screen. Keeping paragraphs to two or three sentences maximum creates white space, reduces visual fatigue, and makes content feel accessible and easy to consume even on small mobile screens.
