Breathwork: Breathing Exercise
Breathwork: Breathing Exercise — Guided breathing exercises paced by an animated ring
Breathwork: Breathing Exercise is a simple breathing exercises app for iPhone and Android, for the moments when you want to slow down right now. Pick a pattern such as box breathing, 4-7-8 or coherent breathing, follow an animated ring that paces every inhale, hold and exhale, and feel a light haptic tap at each phase. There is no timer to set up and no long course to wade through.

One guided minute, not a meditation course.
The app stays on one short loop: choose a pattern or ask the Advisor, follow the ring, note how you feel, and move on with your day. Each exercise takes about a minute, so it fits between meetings, on a commute or in bed.
What it is
Breathwork: Breathing Exercise is an iOS and Android app with four guided breathing patterns: box breathing (4-4-4-4), 4-7-8 breathing, coherent breathing (5-5) and an energizing breath. An animated ring paces each inhale, hold and exhale with a haptic cue at every phase, you can rate your mood before and after, and a streak and session history track the habit. An AI Advisor builds a protocol of one to three steps from those patterns. It is a relaxation tool, not medical advice.
Inside the app
What it looks like

Background
What are box breathing, 4-7-8 and coherent breathing?
They are paced breathing patterns, each defined by the length of the inhale, the hold and the exhale. People use them as a way to slow down when they feel tense, to wind down before sleep or to settle before a task, and the research on their effects is limited and varied. They are generic, well-known techniques and not a treatment for any condition. What makes them easy to follow with an app is that the timing is the whole instruction.
Box breathing4-4-4-4
Inhale for four seconds, hold for four, exhale for four and hold for four, so that each side of the box is equal. People often use it before a meeting, a call or an exam as a steady rhythm to focus on.
4-7-8 breathinga longer exhale
Inhale for four, hold for seven and exhale for eight. The long exhale is what gives it a slow, winding-down feel, which is why many people try it in bed.
Coherent breathing5-5, about six breaths a minute
An even five-second inhale and exhale works out at about six breaths a minute, and is sometimes called resonance breathing. It is a steady, balanced rhythm that people choose when they want to focus.
Energizing breathshort and brisk
A brisk pattern of two seconds in and two seconds out with a four-second hold, meant as a quick lift when you feel flat. It is the one pattern aimed at alertness rather than calm.
Why haptics helpeyes closed
A tap on each phase change lets you follow the pattern without looking at the screen. That matters in bed or on a commute, where watching an animation is not an option.
How it works
How a session goes
A session is meant to be quick to start. You choose, you breathe, you check in.
Choose a pattern or ask the Advisor
Pick one of the four exercises, or open the AI Advisor, choose a goal of sleep, focus, energy or stress relief, add an optional note and get a short protocol of one to three steps built only from those patterns.
Follow the ring
The animated ring paces each inhale, hold and exhale and shows the phase and seconds left. A light haptic tap marks each change so you can close your eyes. You can also rate how you feel before you start.
Check in and watch the habit
Rate your mood afterwards and see how it shifts with each pattern. The Progress tab shows sessions, minutes and your day streak, and you can set one gentle daily reminder.

Safety and limits
Read this before you start
Breathwork is a relaxation, focus and sleep routine built on generic breathing techniques. It is not medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and it is not a substitute for professional care. It makes no promise about any health outcome.
If you feel dizzy or lightheaded, stop and breathe normally. Never do breath-holding exercises while driving, in water or anywhere it would be unsafe. Talk to a doctor before you start if you have a heart or respiratory condition, or you are pregnant. If stress, anxiety or sleep trouble is affecting your daily life, speak with a health professional.
Privacy
What stays on your phone
Your sessions, mood check-ins and streak are stored on your device, and the player works offline. When you use the Advisor, your goal, the time of day and your optional note are sent to a server and an AI service to build the protocol.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
What is a good app for breathing exercises?
A good one keeps the pattern simple and paces it for you. Breathwork: Breathing Exercise offers four guided patterns, an animated ring that marks every inhale, hold and exhale, and haptic taps so you can close your eyes. It is free to start on iOS and Android, and it is a relaxation tool, not medical advice.
What is box breathing?
Box breathing is a pattern of four equal parts: inhale for four seconds, hold for four, exhale for four and hold for four. Breathwork includes it as a steady rhythm people use before a meeting, a call or an exam. Stop and breathe normally if you feel dizzy.
How does 4-7-8 breathing work?
You inhale for four seconds, hold for seven and exhale for eight. The long exhale gives it a slow feel, so people often try it in bed. In Breathwork the ring and haptic taps mark each phase, and a session takes about a minute.
Can the app help me sleep or treat anxiety?
Breathwork is a relaxation, focus and sleep routine and does not diagnose, treat or cure anything. Many people find a slow pattern a pleasant way to wind down, but it is not a medical treatment. If anxiety or sleep problems affect your life, talk to a health professional.
What does the AI Advisor do?
You choose a goal of sleep, focus, energy or stress relief, add an optional note, and the Advisor returns a protocol of one to three steps built only from the app's four patterns. It does not invent new timings. Your goal, the time of day and your note are sent to a server and an AI service to build it.
Is Breathwork free?
Free use every day includes all four exercises, the full ring player, mood check-ins, your streak and history, and two AI Advisor protocols each week. Pro unlocks unlimited Advisor protocols.
Does Breathwork work offline?
The session player works offline, and your sessions, mood check-ins and streak are stored on your device. Only the AI Advisor needs a connection, because it builds the protocol on a server.
Who should be careful with breathing exercises?
Anyone with a heart or respiratory condition, and anyone who is pregnant, should talk to a doctor first. Stop if you feel dizzy or lightheaded, and never do breath-holding exercises while driving, in water or anywhere it would be unsafe.
