Anatomy of a Landing Page

Hero, proof, and CTA.

What a Landing Page Really Is

A landing page is a standalone page built around a single goal. Unlike a homepage, it does not try to do everything. It exists to convert one specific audience toward one specific action.

Because the goal is narrow, every element on the page should either support that action or be removed. Focus is the core principle of landing page design.

One Page, One Goal

The fastest way to weaken a landing page is to chase two goals at once. A page asking for both a newsletter signup and a free trial splits attention and lowers both rates.

Decide the single most valuable action first. Everything else becomes secondary content or gets cut entirely.

GOOD: "Start your free 14-day trial" (1 goal)
BAD: "Sign up OR download our ebook OR book a call" (3 goals)
