Understanding Ad Targeting
Discover how platforms target ads based on demographics, interests, and behavior.
Demographic Targeting
Demographic targeting lets you filter your ad audience by age, gender, income level, education, and location. A luxury car brand might target men and women aged 35 to 55 with high household incomes in metropolitan areas, while a teen fashion brand would target 16 to 24-year-olds in relevant cities.
Interest-Based Targeting
Platforms like Meta analyze user behavior to infer interests — someone who follows cooking accounts, engages with recipe posts, and joins food groups will be categorized as interested in cooking. You can then target your ad to everyone with that interest profile, reaching people likely to care about your offer.
