Whiskey Collection Tracker
Whiskey Collection Tracker — Your whiskey collection by proof, mash bill and pour, kept private
Whiskey Collection Tracker is a free iOS and Android app for cataloguing a whiskey collection the way collectors think about it: proof, mash bill, distillery, age statement and batch or barrel number. Mark a bottle open, log each pour and watch the fill level drop, then keep a hunt list for the bottles you are chasing. Your shelf stays on your phone, with no feed and no marketplace.

A cabinet record, not a marketplace.
Every figure in the app comes from what you actually paid and poured. There is no guessed resale price, no buying or selling and no social feed, so the app can stay what a spreadsheet was meant to be: an honest record of what is on your shelf and how much is left in each bottle.
What it is
Whiskey Collection Tracker is a free iOS and Android app for adults to catalogue a personal whiskey collection and log every pour. Each bottle records proof, mash bill, distillery, age statement, batch or barrel number, price paid, storage location and notes, and a bottle marked open shows a fill level that drops as you log drams. Shelves, a hunt list with target prices, tasting notes with a rating out of 10, and collection stats complete it. It is a private logging tool, not a marketplace, and it does not sell alcohol.
For collectors of legal drinking age, and the app asks you to confirm it. Please drink responsibly. See Responsible use.
Inside the app
What it looks like

Background
What should you record about every bottle in a whiskey collection?
The fields that make two bottles of the same name different: proof or strength, the grain recipe or mash bill, the distillery, the age statement, and the batch or barrel number. A bottle's name alone does not tell you whether it is the cask-strength release or a store pick from a single barrel, and that is the detail you will want in two years. Add what you paid, where it is stored and a line of your own tasting notes, and a shelf becomes a collection you can actually search.
Proofstrength on the label
In the US, proof is twice the alcohol by volume, so 100 proof is 50% ABV. Barrel-proof bottles are bottled undiluted from the barrel, which is why proof is worth logging for each bottle rather than once per brand.
Mash billthe grain recipe
Bourbon is at least 51% corn, and the remaining grains shape the character. A high-rye mash bill reads spicier, while a wheated one reads softer and sweeter.
Age statement and NASyears in the barrel
An age statement is the number of years the whiskey matured, and NAS means no age statement. Older is not automatically better, but it is a fact worth recording for comparing bottles later.
Single barrel and store pickswhy batch numbers matter
A single-barrel bottle comes from one barrel and varies from bottle to bottle, and a store pick is a barrel chosen by a shop or a club. Recording the barrel number lets you tell a favourite from its neighbour on the shelf.
Bottled-in-bonda US standard
One distillery, one distilling season, aged at least four years and bottled at exactly 100 proof. It is a useful label to be able to filter by.
How it works
How the app is used
Add a bottle once, then each pour takes about five seconds.
Catalogue the bottle
Enter the type, proof, mash bill, distillery, age statement and batch or barrel number, with autocomplete from a built-in reference of major distilleries and common expressions. Quick Add lets you log a whole haul in minutes.
Open it and log each pour
Mark a bottle open and record a dram as neat, on the rocks, in a cocktail, as a tasting or shared. The fill level drops and the Home tab shows your open bottles at a glance.
Note it, shelve it, hunt the next one
Write your own nose, palate and finish with a rating out of 10, group bottles on shelves such as Allocated or Daily Sippers, and add the bottles you are chasing to the hunt list with a target price.
What's inside
What the app tracks
7
Whiskey types
Bourbon, rye, Tennessee, single malt, scotch, Irish and blends, each with the fields collectors care about, plus price paid, purchase date, storage location, store-pick details and photos.
5 sec
Pour log and fill level
A five-second pour log with a full pour history per bottle, so you remember the third pour versus the first, and a fill level that drops as you sip.

Collection stats and coverage map
Bottle count, total spend, average proof and a by-type breakdown, with a coverage map that shows gaps across type, mash bill, strength and age. Spend is based only on what you paid.
AI
AI tasting drafts (Pro)
Pro adds AI tasting-note drafts grounded on each bottle's own details, a what-to-open-tonight suggestion drawn from your open bottles, deeper analytics, unlimited photos, CSV export and no ads.
Fit
Who it's for — and who it isn't
A good fit if you
- Have outgrown a spreadsheet and want fields built for whiskey, such as proof and mash bill
- Want to know what is open and roughly how much is left in each bottle
- Chase allocated or limited bottles and want a hunt list with target prices
- Prefer a private record on your own phone to a social feed or a marketplace
- Like writing your own tasting notes and rating them out of 10
Not the right tool if you
- Are under the legal drinking age where you live, since the app asks you to confirm it
- Want the app to value your bottles, because it never estimates resale prices
- Want to buy, sell or trade bottles in the app, which has no marketplace
- Want AI tasting drafts and the deeper analytics without Pro
Safety and limits
Responsible use
Whiskey Collection Tracker is a personal collection log for adults. It does not sell alcohol and does not encourage drinking. The app asks you to confirm that you are of legal drinking age in your region before you use it, and the store rating is 17+.
Log what you pour, savour it slowly and drink responsibly. The pour log and the what-to-open suggestion are record-keeping tools and make no recommendation about how much you should drink. The tasting guide is general reference written for enthusiasts, not professional or medical advice.
Privacy
Private by default
Your bottles, pours and tasting notes are stored locally on your device by default, and nothing leaves your phone unless you export it yourself. The optional AI features ask for your consent first and send only a bottle's metadata, such as name, distillery, type, proof, mash bill and age, or your open bottles' names, types, proof, rating and fill level, to a third-party AI service. Your name, email, purchase price and photos are never sent, and you can decline and keep using the app without AI.

Questions
Frequently asked questions
What is a good app for cataloguing a whiskey collection?
It should have fields for what makes whiskey bottles different, not a generic notes box. Whiskey Collection Tracker records proof, mash bill, distillery, age statement and batch or barrel number for each bottle, tracks every pour against a fill level, and keeps shelves, a hunt list and tasting notes. It is free on iOS and Android and keeps your shelf private on your device.
What is the difference between proof and ABV?
In the US, proof is twice the alcohol by volume, so a 100 proof whiskey is 50% ABV. Whiskey Collection Tracker records proof for each bottle and shows your average proof across the shelf. Because barrel-proof releases vary, logging proof per bottle is more useful than per brand.
How do I keep track of how much whiskey is left in a bottle?
Mark the bottle as open and log each pour. Whiskey Collection Tracker lowers a fill level with every dram you log, with a five-second pour entry for neat, on the rocks, a cocktail, a tasting or a share, and the Home tab lists your open bottles at a glance. The per-bottle pour history shows when each drink happened.
Does the app tell me what my bottles are worth?
No, deliberately. All figures in Whiskey Collection Tracker are based only on what you paid, such as total spend, bottle count and average proof. The app never estimates a resale value, and the AI only drafts tasting notes. There is no buying or selling inside the app.
What is a hunt list for?
It is a list of bottles you are chasing, such as allocated or limited releases, each with a target price, a priority and notes on where you might find it. Whiskey Collection Tracker keeps it separate from your cabinet, so a wish-list entry never counts toward your bottle count or spend.
Is Whiskey Collection Tracker free?
Cataloguing bottles, logging pours, the hunt list and manual tasting notes are free. Pro, a monthly or yearly subscription, adds AI tasting-note drafts, a what-to-open-tonight suggestion drawn from your own open bottles, advanced analytics, unlimited photos per bottle, CSV export and no ads.
Is my collection data private?
Yes. Your bottles, pours and tasting notes are stored on your device by default, and the app has no social feed and no marketplace. The optional AI features ask for consent before sending a bottle's metadata to a third-party AI service, and your name, email, purchase price and photos are never sent.
Is there a minimum age to use the app?
Yes. The app asks you to confirm that you are of legal drinking age in your region, and its store age rating is 17+. It is a personal collection log, it does not sell alcohol, and it asks you to enjoy whiskey responsibly.
