Reflection, not prediction.

Every card meaning is worded as a possibility to consider, with phrases such as invites you to notice or may reflect, never you will. Today's card is fixed to the date, so you cannot reroll for a better one: it is a daily focus to sit with, not a slot machine.

What it is

Tarot Journal - Daily Card Log is a free Android app that turns a daily tarot card draw into a private journal of reflections. Each day shows one card from a full 78-card deck with upright and reversed meanings, fixed to the date so it cannot be rerolled, and you write down what it brings up. Eight spreads, from a single card to the ten-card Celtic Cross, handle deeper questions, and a Patterns screen shows suit balance and recurring cards across your history. Readings are for entertainment and self-reflection, not predictions or advice.

Background

What is a tarot journal, and how do you use a daily card for reflection?

A tarot journal is a record of card draws paired with what the reader writes about them. Used for reflection rather than fortune-telling, the card works as a prompt: it offers an image and a theme, and the useful part is what you notice in yourself while you think about it. Drawing one card at the same time each day and writing a few lines builds a record, and over several weeks that record can show themes and cards that keep recurring. Tarot readings are for entertainment and self-reflection, and are not a substitute for medical, legal, psychological or financial advice.

Major and Minor Arcanathe 78 cards

A standard tarot deck has 78 cards: 22 Major Arcana with big themes such as The Star, and 56 Minor Arcana in four suits, Wands, Cups, Swords and Pentacles. The app's card library covers all 78, each with upright and reversed keywords.

Upright and reversedtwo readings of one card

A card drawn upside down is read as reversed, and its meaning shifts, often toward a dimmed or inward version of the theme. In the app, reversed meanings are worded as invitations to reconnect or reconsider, not as bad omens.

Spreadsone question per position

A spread gives each position in a layout its own question. The app offers eight, from a single focus card and a Past, Present and Future arc to Relationship, Career and Purpose layouts and a ten-card Celtic Cross, with each position framed as a question rather than a blank slot.

Patternswhat keeps coming back

Over time a journal shows which suits dominate your draws and which individual cards return. The app computes suit balance and recurring cards on your device from your whole reading history.

How it works

A daily loop

The core of the app is four words long: draw, reflect, journal, repeat.

  1. Turn over today's card

Open the app and the day's card is waiting face down. Reveal it and read an interpretation grounded in the card's traditional meaning, with an offline fallback whenever the AI is not available.

  2. Journal the card

Tap Journal this card and write what it actually stirred up. Entries are unlimited and stay on your device, and a streak quietly tracks how consistently you come back.

  3. Go deeper when you want to

Choose a spread for a bigger question, read each position as a prompt, and add a reflection. Later, the Patterns screen shows your suit balance and the cards that keep returning.

Safety and limits

Entertainment and self-reflection

Readings in Tarot Journal - Daily Card Log are for entertainment and self-reflection only. They are not predictions, and never medical, legal, psychological or financial advice.

If your reflections turn to something that worries you, talk to someone you trust or a qualified professional rather than relying on a card or an app.

Privacy

Who sees your reflections

Your entries are stored locally and privately on your device, and the app does not read, sell or mine them. No account is needed beyond a guest profile. The free version shows small banner ads on the Journal, Card Library and Settings screens, while the daily card reveal is always ad-free.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What is a tarot journal app?

A tarot journal app lets you draw a card, record the reading and write what it made you think, so your readings become a searchable record rather than a one-off. Tarot Journal - Daily Card Log gives you a daily card from a full 78-card deck, eight spreads, an unlimited private journal and a Patterns screen that shows recurring cards. It is a free Android app.

How does the daily tarot card work?

Each day one card waits face down in Tarot Journal - Daily Card Log. You reveal it, read an interpretation grounded in the card's traditional meaning and write a reflection. The card is fixed to the date, so you cannot reroll for a better one, which keeps the draw a focus to sit with rather than a game.

Do I need to believe in tarot to use it?

No. Tarot Journal - Daily Card Log is written for people who treat tarot as a mirror, using the card as a prompt for noticing what is on their mind. Meanings are phrased as possibilities, and the app states throughout that readings are for entertainment and self-reflection.

Which tarot spreads are included?

There are eight, from a single focus card and a Past, Present and Future arc to Situation, Action and Outcome, Relationship, Career and Purpose, Crossroads and a ten-card Celtic Cross. Tarot Journal - Daily Card Log words each position as a question to consider. The full spread library is part of Pro.

Does the app predict my future?

No. Tarot Journal - Daily Card Log words every meaning as an invitation, such as invites you to notice or may reflect, never as a statement about what will happen. Readings are for entertainment and self-reflection and are not predictions or professional advice.

Are my journal entries private?

Yes. Every reading and reflection you write in Tarot Journal - Daily Card Log is stored locally on your device, unlimited and never time-limited, and the app does not read, sell or mine them. You only need a guest profile to start.

Is Tarot Journal - Daily Card Log free?

The core loop is free: your daily card and its interpretation, unlimited journal entries and reflections, the full 78-card reference and your Patterns stats. On-demand spread readings beyond the daily card include three free AI interpretations a week. Pro adds the full spread library, unlimited AI readings, reflective prompts, the weekly reflection and no banner ads.
