The course

What the cloud certification courses cover

These are real courses from the Cloud & IT Certification Prep category on this site, one or two from each track, in the order a learner usually meets them.

  1. AWS Cloud Foundations

The start of the AWS track, followed by Getting Around the AWS Console and CLI, IAM: Users, Groups, Roles, and Policies, EC2 Essentials and S3: Object Storage Fundamentals.

  2. Designing a Secure VPC

Networking on AWS, from VPC Basics to Security Groups versus Network ACLs, with Route 53 and Elastic Load Balancing alongside.

  3. SAA-C03 Mock Scenario Questions

Scenario practice at the end of the Solutions Architect track, after SAA-C03 Exam Strategies and courses on High Availability and Fault-Tolerant Architectures.

  4. AWS Security Foundations

The security track's opening course, leading to Threat Detection with Amazon GuardDuty, Encryption Keys with AWS KMS and Incident Response Playbooks.

  5. What Is Cloud Computing?

The Azure Fundamentals starting point, with Azure Global Infrastructure and Azure Core Services: Compute next, and an AZ-900 Mock Exam at the end.

  6. Security Fundamentals and the CIA Triad

The Security+ track opens here, covering Threat Actors and Threat Intelligence, Cryptography Basics and Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), before a Security+ Mock Exam.

  7. The OSI Model Made Simple

Network+ fundamentals, continuing through The TCP/IP Model in Practice, IPv4 Addressing Essentials and Subnetting Without Fear.

  8. Troubleshooting Methodology

A structured approach to network problems, with Command-Line Diagnostic Tools and Physical and Cabling Troubleshooting as companions.

How it works

How studying works

The app is meant for a few minutes at a time, so each lesson is small and every session ends with a check on what you just learned.

  1. Pick the exam you are preparing for

Choose one of the five tracks, each of 30 courses that run from the basics to advanced topics. Lessons are interactive: you tap, choose, order and answer instead of scrolling through long pages.

  2. Check yourself every day

A daily mini quiz gives five certification-style questions with a short why behind each answer. Missed questions come back as flashcards on a spaced-repetition schedule, and cheat sheets cover AWS, Azure and Google Cloud services and the command line.

  3. Practise on realistic problems

Work through troubleshooting missions in a simulated terminal, and ask the AI Mentor when a concept or an answer does not make sense. A progress view shows which topics are still weak.

Background

Which cloud certification should you study first, and what do the exams test?

There is no single best first certification; it depends on the job you want. Azure Fundamentals (AZ-900) is an entry-level exam on cloud concepts and Azure services. The AWS Solutions Architect Associate exam (SAA-C03) is about choosing and combining AWS services to build secure, resilient, cost-aware systems. CompTIA Security+ and Network+ are vendor-neutral exams on security and networking fundamentals. Because exam objectives change, always check the provider's own exam guide, and treat a study app as a way to learn the material, not as a guarantee of a pass.

AWS Solutions Architect AssociateSAA-C03

Scenario questions ask which combination of services meets a requirement, such as EC2 with an Auto Scaling group behind a load balancer, or S3 with the right storage class. The app's track covers EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, high availability, disaster recovery and cost optimization.

AWS Securityidentity, detection, response

Security on AWS starts with IAM policies and extends to KMS encryption, GuardDuty, Security Hub, CloudTrail, AWS Config, WAF and Shield. The questions are usually about picking the control that fits a threat.

Azure FundamentalsAZ-900

Cloud computing concepts first, then Azure compute, storage, networking, Entra ID, pricing and governance. It is the lightest of the five tracks to start with if you are new to cloud.

Security+ and Network+CompTIA, vendor-neutral

Security+ (SY0-701) covers the CIA triad, threat actors, cryptography, PKI, zero trust and incident response. Network+ covers the OSI and TCP/IP models, IPv4 subnetting, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing and troubleshooting.

Fit

Who it's for — and who it isn't

A good fit if you

  • Are preparing for AWS SAA-C03, AWS security topics, AZ-900, Security+ or Network+
  • Are an IT professional moving into the cloud, or a developer who wants to learn AWS or Azure
  • Are a help desk or network administrator studying for a CompTIA exam
  • Study in short daily sessions and want a quiz, flashcards and a streak to keep you consistent
  • Want practice that reasons through scenarios instead of only listing facts

Not the right tool if you

  • Expect the app to guarantee a certification; it is an independent study aid and grants no certification
  • Need an official practice exam from the provider; the mock courses here are the app's own
  • Want everything free: a starter course, a preview of every lesson, the daily quiz, flashcards, two missions and 3 AI Mentor questions a day are free, and Pro unlocks the rest

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What is AWS Training & Certification?

AWS Training & Certification is an Android study app, with an iPhone version coming, for cloud and IT certification exams. It has five tracks, 150 courses and 600 lessons covering AWS Solutions Architect Associate, AWS Security, Azure Fundamentals, CompTIA Security+ and CompTIA Network+. Lessons are short and interactive, with practice questions and an AI Mentor.

Does it cover AWS certification SAA-C03?

Yes. The Solutions Architect Associate track covers EC2, S3, VPC, RDS, DynamoDB, Lambda, load balancing, high availability, disaster recovery and cost optimization, and ends with exam strategies and scenario practice questions. It is a study aid, so also read the official exam guide for the current objectives.

What are the troubleshooting missions?

There are 20 missions in a simulated terminal, each built around a realistic problem: an admin who still cannot delete a resource, a port that is open but still times out, storage that is readable when it should not be. Each mission teaches one concept across identity and access, networking, storage, security and compliance, or cost and resilience.

How does the daily quiz and flashcard review work?

Each day AWS Training & Certification gives five certification-style questions with a short explanation behind every answer. Questions you miss return as flashcards on a spaced-repetition schedule, so the topics you find hard come back more often until they stick.

Is it free?

You can start free with no account: a complete starter course, a preview of every lesson, the daily quiz, flashcard review, the first two missions and 3 AI Mentor questions a day. Pro, a subscription managed in Google Play, unlocks all 150 courses and 600 lessons, all 20 missions and many more AI Mentor questions.

Will this app get me certified?

No app can promise that. AWS Training & Certification is an independent study app and does not grant or guarantee any certification. It helps you learn the material in small steps, and you still book and sit the exam with the provider, so use their exam guide alongside it.

Is it affiliated with AWS, Microsoft or CompTIA?

No. The app is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Amazon Web Services, Microsoft, CompTIA or any other certification provider. AWS, Azure, AZ-900, SAA-C03, Security+ and Network+ are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to describe the exam topics covered.

Is there an iPhone version?

Not yet live. AWS Training & Certification is available on Android through Google Play now, and the iPhone version is coming. Until the iPhone version is released, the App Store link on this page shows as coming soon.
