Using Voice Mode in AI Apps

Typing is not the only way to use AI. Apps like ChatGPT and Gemini have a voice mode where you simply speak and the AI talks back, like a real conversation. It is natural, fast, and frees your hands and eyes. In this lesson you will learn how to start a voice chat and have a genuine back-and-forth with an AI.

In most AI apps, voice mode is a microphone or headphone icon near the text box. Tap it and the app starts listening. The first time, your phone will ask permission to use the microphone — that is normal and required. Once you grant it, you are ready to speak instead of type.
