Building a Verify-Before-Trust Habit
Make checking important claims your automatic default.
Trust Is Earned, Not Given
By now you know AI can be brilliant and also confidently wrong in the same breath. The mature response is not to distrust everything — that is exhausting and you would miss the value. It is to build a small, automatic verify-before-trust reflex that kicks in exactly when it matters. The goal is judgment, not paranoia.
The One Question
The whole habit fits in one question you ask yourself after any AI answer: "What happens if this is wrong?" If the answer is "nothing much" — a brainstorming list, a casual rewrite — trust freely and move on. If the answer is "I lose money, harm my health, embarrass myself, or break a rule," that is your cue to verify before you act.
