Disputes Will Happen
Even with strong fraud prevention, some customers file disputes (chargebacks). How you respond determines whether you keep the revenue.
The Dispute Lifecycle
When a dispute opens, the funds plus a fee are withdrawn. You then have a deadline to submit evidence; the issuing bank rules afterward.
Dispute Reasons
Each dispute has a reason code:
fraudulent- cardholder denies the purchaseproduct_not_receivedsubscription_canceled
The reason dictates which evidence wins.

The charge.dispute.created webhook alerts you so you can start gathering evidence immediately.
