Onboarding is done, so let us confirm it. The dashboard is a local web page that shows your assistant is up and running on your machine.

Open it with this command. The dashboard subcommand serves the page locally and points you to its address.

By default the dashboard lives at http://127.0.0.1:18789/. Open that URL in your browser to see it.

The address 127.0.0.1 is localhost, meaning your own computer. The dashboard is served right where OpenClaw runs, not on the public internet.

Serving on localhost matches OpenClaw's local-first promise. Nothing about your dashboard is exposed to the outside world by default.

The number 18789 is the port the dashboard listens on. Together with 127.0.0.1 it tells your browser exactly where to find the page.

If the page loads, your install is healthy. A working dashboard is your proof that the Gateway started and OpenClaw is alive locally. 🎉

The dashboard is your visual view onto the Gateway, where you can keep an eye on your assistant and its connections from the browser.

If nothing appears, the daemon may not be running. Re-checking your onboarding step usually brings the Gateway back so the dashboard can load.

Bookmark the local URL. Returning to the dashboard later lets you monitor sessions and channels any time the Gateway is up.

Prereqs, install, onboarding, and dashboard are all checked. Your setup is complete and OpenClaw is ready for its first real chat.

Where does the OpenClaw dashboard live by default?

You ran openclaw dashboard and opened http://127.0.0.1:18789/ to confirm OpenClaw runs locally. Your full setup is finished and ready to use. ✅
