Getting started means creating a Firebase project — the central container that holds your app's data, auth rules, storage, and services.

Everything starts at the Firebase Console at console.firebase.google.com. Sign in with your Google account — it is mission control for Firebase.

In the console, click Add project to launch the creation wizard. First-timers may see a quick welcome screen before it begins.

Give your project a descriptive name. Firebase derives a globally unique Project ID from it, used in URLs and API calls — you can tweak it.

Next, choose whether to enable Google Analytics. It tracks events like app opens and screen views, and you can toggle it anytime.

Confirm your settings and Firebase provisions your project, wiring up backend resources to your Project ID, then drops you on the dashboard.

A project is just a container — your actual app must be registered inside it. Registering links your client code to Firebase and generates its config.

For a web app, click the </> icon and give it a nickname. Firebase hands back a config object your app uses to connect.

Mobile apps register with platform IDs: iOS needs its Bundle ID and a GoogleService-Info.plist; Android needs its Package Name and google-services.json.
