Let's tour the core AWS building blocks. Knowing these is how you understand how serverless apps are actually constructed.

Amazon EC2 rents you resizable virtual servers — you pick the OS, CPU, and memory, and you manage them. It's the very thing serverless abstracts away.

Amazon S3 is durable, massively scalable object storage for any file. Serverless apps lean on it for uploads and static frontend assets.

Amazon DynamoDB is a fully managed NoSQL database with single-digit-millisecond latency at any scale — no servers, just your data.

AWS Lambda is the core serverless compute service. It runs your code on events and acts as the glue wiring S3, DynamoDB, and more together.

AWS IAM controls who can do what. You define users and policies so only authorized entities touch your resources — essential for security.

Amazon VPC gives you a logically isolated network in the cloud, with control over IP ranges and subnets to keep functions and private resources secure.

Amazon CloudWatch collects metrics and logs across AWS, so you can track performance, set alarms, and debug your serverless apps.

These services rarely work alone. Lambda processes an S3 upload, writes to DynamoDB, IAM authorizes it, and CloudWatch watches the whole flow. 🔗
