  • Retiring: Deleting unused or idle resources.
  • Refactoring: Designing applications for cost efficiency.

Rightsizing Your Instances

Are your servers too big for the job? Rightsizing means continuously analyzing resource utilization (CPU, memory, network) and adjusting instance types or sizes down to meet actual demand without sacrificing performance.

For example, if a virtual machine consistently uses only 10% CPU and 20% memory, it's likely over-provisioned, leading to unnecessary costs.
