JMeter 설치와 인터페이스

Apache JMeter is a free, open-source tool for performance testing. You'll use it to simulate heavy load on a server and measure how it holds up.

Grab JMeter from the official Apache site — head to "Download Release" and pick the latest stable binary (.zip or .tgz) for your OS.

JMeter runs on Java, so you need a JDK installed first. Check with java -version; if it's missing, install a current LTS JDK.

Install is just unzip and run: extract the archive, open the bin folder, then launch jmeter.bat (Windows) or ./jmeter.sh (macOS/Linux).

The JMeter GUI looks busy but breaks down simply: a Test Plan tree on the left, a config Content Panel on the right, and the menu bar up top.

The Test Plan tree on the left is where you build your script — adding Thread Groups (users), Samplers (requests), and Listeners (results).

The WorkBench below the Test Plan is a temporary scratch space for elements you're experimenting with. They aren't saved unless you move them in.

The top Menu Bar holds your core controls: File for save/open, Edit to add elements, and Run to start, stop, and clear tests.

Select any element and its settings appear in the Content Panel on the right — that's where you set URLs, user counts, and listener options.
