When you run a compiled Clojure application (like an UberJAR), it needs a starting point. This is typically a function named -main in a namespace.

The (:gen-class) directive in the ns form is used to generate a Java class that makes this -main function directly callable from the JVM.

Ensuring Quality with Tests
