Superpower Number Two! 🦸

Welcome back, super-coder! 🌟

Today you unlock your second superpower: making CHOICES! 🤔

Programs can DECIDE things, just like you do every day! 🧠

You Make Choices Too! 🙋

You make choices all the time! 😄

  • ☔ IF it rains, THEN take an umbrella
  • 🥶 IF it's cold, THEN wear a coat
  • 😴 IF you're sleepy, THEN go to bed

Computers think this way too!

The Magic Words: IF and THEN ✨

Coders use two magic words: IF and THEN. 🪄

It works like this:

IF something is true, THEN do something. 🎯

Easy peasy! 🍋

A Choice at the Door 🚪

Imagine a robot guard at a castle. 🏰🤖

Its rule is:

IF you say the password, THEN open the gate! 🔑

No password? The gate stays shut. 🚫 The robot is just following its choice!

IF... or ELSE! 🔀

Sometimes there are TWO paths. 🛤️

IF it's sunny, THEN play outside. ☀️

ELSE (if not), play inside. 🏠

"Else" means "otherwise." One choice, two answers! 🎲

True or False? ✅❌

Choices need a question with a YES or NO answer. 🤷

"Is it raining?" → YES (true) or NO (false). 🌧️

Computers check: true or false?

Then they pick the right path! 🧭

The Traffic Light 🚦

A traffic light makes choices! 🚗

  • 🔴 IF red, THEN stop
  • 🟡 IF yellow, THEN slow down
  • 🟢 IF green, THEN go!

Each color gives a different choice. Smart light! 💡

Choices in Games 🎮

Your favorite games are FULL of choices! 🕹️

  • 💖 IF you touch a heart, THEN you get more life
  • 💥 IF you hit a wall, THEN you bounce back
  • ⭐ IF you collect 100 stars, THEN you win!

Choices make games fun! 🎉

Be the Decider! 🧑‍⚖️

Let's try one together! 🍪

IF there are cookies, THEN say "Yum!" 😋

ELSE say "Aww, none left." 😢

You just made a choice like a coder! High five! ✋

Choices Make Computers Smart 🧠

Without choices, computers would do the SAME thing every time. 😐

But with IF and THEN, they can react! 🤖

That's how apps know what to do when YOU tap a button. 👆 Cool, right? 😎

Spot the Choice 🔎

Which sentence is a CHOICE? 🤔

  • 🐕 "The dog ran."
  • 🌧️ "IF it rains, THEN stay inside."

The second one has IF and THEN — it's a choice! 🎯 You spotted it!

Quick Check

Time to use your choice power! 💪 Pick the best answer.

Superpower Unlocked! 🏅

Amazing work, super-coder! 🌟

You unlocked the CHOICE superpower! 🤔

Remember: IF this, THEN that! 🔀

Next up, the bravest power of all: fixing bugs! 🐛 See you there! 💚
