Pictures from Text! 🎨
Hi artist! 👋 Did you know you can draw PICTURES using only letters and symbols? 🤯
It's called ASCII Art! Today we start making art with Python's print()! 🖌️
print("Let's draw with letters! 🎨")Print Draws! 🖨️
Every time we print() something, it appears on a new line! 📄
So each print is like one line of our drawing! 🖼️
print("*")
print("**")
print("***")A Line of Stars ⭐
Want a long line of stars? Don't type them all! Use * to REPEAT! 🪄
In Python, "*" * 5 makes five stars! ✨
print("*" * 5)
print("=" * 10)A Triangle 🔺
Let's stack stars to make a triangle! 🔺
Each line has one more star than the last. So pretty! ✨
print("*")
print("**")
print("***")
print("****")Triangle with a Loop 🔁
Typing each line is slow. A for loop builds the triangle for us! 🔁
for i in range(1, 5):
print("*" * i)Spaces Matter 🫥
Empty spaces are part of art too! 🫥 We can push stars to the right with spaces.
Spaces are invisible but very powerful! 💪
print(" *")
print(" ***")
print(" *****")Writing Big Letters 🔠
We can spell letters with symbols! Here is a big letter L! 🅛
print("#")
print("#")
print("#")
print("#####")Mix Symbols 🌈
Try different symbols: *, #, @, +! Each looks different! 🌈
Pick your favorite for your art! 🎨
print("@@@@@")
print("+ +")
print("@@@@@")A Little Tree 🌲
Let's draw a tiny tree using spaces and stars! 🌲
print(" *")
print(" ***")
print("*****")
print(" |")Repeat a Pattern 🔁
We can repeat a whole pattern with a loop to make wallpaper! 🧱
for i in range(3):
print("<>" * 4)Art Star! ⭐
You're drawing with code now! 🎉
- Each
print()is one line 📄 "*" * 5repeats symbols 🪄- Spaces position your art 🫥
- Loops build shapes fast 🔁
Next: drawing boxes and borders! 📦
print("I am an ASCII artist! 🎨⭐")Quick Check ✅
Let's test your art skills! 🧠
Recap Time! 🎒
Great job, ASCII artist! 🌟
- Each
print()draws one line 📄 - Repeat symbols with
"x" * n🪄 - Spaces position your picture 🫥
- Loops draw shapes quickly 🔁
