Using Search-Style AI for Current Info

When to use a tool that browses the web for up-to-date answers.

Why This Matters

Most AI tools learned from text up to a certain date, then stopped. That means a plain assistant may not know today is news, prices, or weather.

Search-style AI fixes this by browsing the live web before answering. Knowing when to use it keeps you from getting confident but outdated replies.

The Knowledge Cutoff

Every AI model has a knowledge cutoff — the last date its training included. Ask about events after that, and a basic model may guess or say it does not know.

This is not the AI being broken; it simply has not "read the newspaper" since that date. For anything recent, you need a tool that can look things up.
