Outlining an Essay or Report

Build a clear structure before you start writing.

Structure Before Writing

The hardest part of writing is often the blank page. A clear outline solves that — and AI is excellent at building a logical structure before you write a word. Give it your topic and let it map out the sections. In this lesson you will learn to use AI to create a strong skeleton so the actual writing flows far more easily.

Start With Your Topic

Tell the AI your topic, the type of piece, and its length: "Outline a 1,000-word essay on the benefits of public libraries." The more you specify, the better the structure. A clear brief gives you an outline that actually fits your assignment, instead of a generic shape you have to bend to your needs.
